Nyon

Part of the Morzine-Les Gets area of the Portes du Soleil, connected by le Pleney, Morzine, Chevannes and Mont Chéry in Les Gets.

The Nyon telepherique, situated only 1km from Morzine center allows those staying in this area to either ski in or be within close range access to the slopes.

Walking Time: It normally takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk from Nyon to Morzine town centre depending on your walking speed. Be aware that although it is straight forward and only really requires one road there are no street lights along the road so if you are walking back in the dark then it is advised that you take a pocket torch with you.

Restaurants:

Ranging from; Pointe de Nyon - at the top of the telepherique; Hotel Chamois - run by an Australian offering BBQ meat and burgers throughout winter; La Grenouille du Marais – at the bottom of the telepherique, where on odd occasions in winter you are greeted with a pair of slippers; Restaurant la Cascade de Nyon – open in Summer for meals and refreshments

Winter:

With snow canons down the ‘home run’ you can ski right down to where the free navette picks up and can drop you off in Morzine for some après ski drinks. A new boarder cross and jump park expected for the 09/10 winter season.

Summer:

les Cascades de Nyon offering canyoning beginning with a 40m drop from a bridge into the water and combining climbing, abseiling, swimming and diving through canyons and waterfalls. An adventure park situated at the top of the waterfall with monkey bridges, rope ladders, swinging stirrups and a 100m/330ft zip-line over the waterfall is sure to keep kids of all ages thrilled! Also, the starting point to many stunning walks around the area.
